21 Inspiring LGBTQPlus Celebrities Who Came Out in 2023

Many actors, musicians and singers, as well as athletes, have made public their membership in the LGBTQ+ community over the years. In turn, millions of fans around the globe have felt heard and accepted. This year has been no exception.

It's not easy to come out, even though it should. We're grateful to those celebrities who have done so. Seeing a famous star express their sexuality and gender expression publicly does wonders for helping others do the same and, year by year, we hope it gets a little bit easier to come out.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish recently spoke out about her sexuality. "I love [women] a lot. I love them for who they are. I'm attracted to them as people. The "Bad Guy' singer said, "I am attracted to them in real life. "I have deep connections with women in my life, the friends in my life, the family in my life," she added. "I am physically attracted to these women." But I'm also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence."

As for her gender, Eilish revealed she's never felt too connected with her femininity. "I've never felt like a woman, to be honest with you," she told the outlet. "I've never felt desirable. I've never felt feminine. I have to convince myself that I'm, like, a pretty girl. I identify as 'she/her' and things like that, but I've never really felt like a girl."
